What Is A Buttock Lift?
A buttock lift, also known as gluteoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the shape, contour, and overall appearance of the buttocks. Buttock lifts involve removing excess skin and fat from the buttock area to lift and tighten the tissues, resulting in a more toned and lifted appearance.

During the procedure, incisions are carefully placed to minimize visible scarring, typically along the lower back or bikini line. The underlying tissues are then reshaped and repositioned to create a firmer and more defined buttock contour.

Types of Butt Lifts
Butt lifts encompass a variety of options, each designed to address specific concerns and meet diverse aesthetic aims.

Below are some of the more common forms of a butt lift.

Traditional Butt Lift: A traditional butt lift, also known as a buttock lift or belt lipectomy, improves the appearance of the buttocks by removing excess skin and tissue and lifting the remaining tissue to create a firmer, more rounded contour. Unlike it's more popular counterpart, the BBL, a traditional butt lift will not add volume to the buttocks. It's end result is to lift and tighten.

BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift): For those seeking a more impactful result, a BBL (which stands for a Brazilian Butt Lift), both lifts and adds volume to the butt. This is accomplished by extracting excess fat is from regions like the abdomen, thighs, or flanks via liposuction, then transferring that fat into the buttocks to add volume.

Because a BBL is both a liposuction and butt lifting procedure, it produces more noticeable results thanks to it's ability to shape and sculpt the the entire lower half of the body, slimming like the abdomen, waist, or thighs, while elevating curves around the hips and butt. A Brazilian butt lift has all the benefits of a traditional butt lift but with the added benefits of slimming other areas and amplifying the profile of the butt.

Procedure: Brazilian Butt Lift
Butt Implants: Butt implant procedures involve surgically embedding an implant, generally made of silicone, within the buttock muscles or beneath the gluteal fascia to boost buttock profile and volume. Generally, the implant will be inserted through a precise incision made in discreet areas, such as the natural creases between the buttocks and thighs. Butt implants are significantly less commonly performed than other forms of buttock enhancements such as BBLs or traditional butt lifts, but they remain an options for those looking to add a significant boost to their buttock projection.

Butt Lift and BBL Cost
Multiple factors contribute to the cost of buttock enhancement surgery. Here are some key considerations:

  1. Type of Procedure: The specific technique used for buttock enhancement, such as Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), traditional butt lift, butt implants, or fat transfer, can significantly impact the cost. Each procedure involves different surgical techniques, equipment, and materials, which can affect the overall cost.
  2. Surgeon's Expertise and Experience: The credentials, reputation, and experience level of the plastic surgeon performing the procedure can influence the cost. Surgeons with extensive experience and a high level of expertise may charge higher fees for their services.
  3. Location: The geographical location of the surgical facility also plays a role in determining the cost of buttock enhancement surgery. Generally, procedures performed in urban areas or regions with a higher cost of living tend to be more expensive than those performed in rural or less densely populated areas.
  4. Facility Fees: The fees associated with the surgical facility where the procedure is performed, including operating room fees, anesthesia fees, and any additional charges for post-operative care, can contribute to the overall cost.
  5. Anesthesia Fees: The type of anesthesia used during the procedure, whether it's local anesthesia, intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia, will affect the total cost. Anesthesiologists typically charge fees based on their level of expertise and the duration of anesthesia required.

Butt Lift and BBL Recovery

Week 1: The buttocks area will likely feel swollen, bruised, and tender. Patients are advised to rest and avoid sitting directly on their buttocks. Swelling and bruising are typically at their peak during the first few days. And pain and discomfort can be managed with medication prescribed by your surgeon. Light walking is encouraged to promote blood circulation and reduce the risk of blood clots.

Week 2: Swelling and bruising gradually begin to subside. Patients may still experience discomfort, but considerably less so compared to the first week. Follow-up appointments with the surgeon may occur during this time to monitor progress and remove any sutures or drains if necessary. Patients are typically advised to continue wearing compression garments to help reduce swelling and support the newly contoured buttocks.

Weeks 3–4: Swelling continues to decrease, and bruising fades. During this time, patients start to notice the initial results of their BBL, although final results may not be fully apparent yet. Light activities and gentle exercises may be gradually reintroduced, but strenuous activities should still be avoided. Most patients can return to work or regular daily activities, although it's essential to continue avoiding prolonged sitting and strenuous physical activities.

Months 2–3: Final results begin to become more apparent as swelling completely subsides. Around this time, patients can gradually resume more strenuous activities and exercises under the guidance and recommendations from their surgeon.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, can help preserve the results of a butt lift and BBL.
